Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of axiomresearch.de and Axiom Research GmbH services. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and any study-specific terms presented before participation. If you do not agree, do not use the relevant service.

1. About Axiom

Axiom Research GmbH provides research-operations technology and participant-network services. Depending on the project, Axiom may recruit participants, deliver study tasks, provide communication and review tools, support reward administration, or provide infrastructure to an independent researcher or research sponsor.

2. Eligibility

You must meet the minimum age and jurisdiction requirements shown during registration and must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Some research opportunities have additional criteria. Eligibility for the platform does not guarantee eligibility for any particular research opportunity.

3. Account rules

• Create and maintain only the number of accounts permitted by Axiom; unless expressly stated otherwise, one natural person may hold one participant account.
• Provide accurate, current information and promptly correct material errors.
• Keep your login credentials confidential and notify support if you suspect compromise.
• Do not transfer, sell, rent, share or automate access to your account.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account where attributable to your actions or failure to protect credentials.

4. Research participation

Participation is voluntary. Before starting, review the study description, eligibility criteria, instructions, expected activities, confidentiality requirements and reward terms. Complete tasks personally and honestly, unless a study expressly allows collaboration. Do not fabricate responses, submit another person’s work, manipulate evidence, misrepresent identity or location, or use automation to generate research responses.

5. Study-specific terms, consent and withdrawal

A research project may include a separate participant information sheet, consent form, confidentiality notice or sponsor terms. Those documents apply to that research in addition to these Terms. Where a study permits withdrawal, follow the study instructions or contact the identified research team. Withdrawal from research does not necessarily require deletion of all previously collected data where continued processing is permitted or required by law or the research protocol.

6. Submission review and rewards

Where a project offers a reward, the amount and conditions are shown before or during participation. A submitted study may enter a review state before reward approval. Unless a study states otherwise, Axiom aims to complete ordinary submission review within 24–48 hours, but complex quality, fraud, sponsor or technical reviews may take longer.

A reward may be withheld, adjusted or reversed where reasonably supported by evidence of ineligibility, duplicate participation, material incompleteness, fabricated or copied work, prohibited automation, identity or location misrepresentation, manipulated evidence, breach of a study’s rules, chargeback or payment-provider reversal, or other fraud. Where practicable, you may contact support regarding a rejected or reversed reward.

7. Prohibited conduct

You must not interfere with platform security; probe or exploit vulnerabilities without written authorisation; scrape, harvest or mass-copy participant or research data; use bots or automated agents to complete participant tasks; bypass eligibility controls; create duplicate identities; impersonate another person or organisation; harass researchers, participants or staff; upload unlawful or malicious material; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; manipulate payment or reward systems; or use the platform in violation of applicable law.

8. Confidentiality and research materials

Some research includes confidential concepts, unreleased products, prototypes, media or commercial information. If a project is marked confidential, you must not publish, share, record or distribute protected material except as the research instructions permit. Separate NDAs or confidentiality terms may apply and will take precedence for the relevant subject matter.

9. Intellectual property

Axiom and its licensors retain rights in the platform, software, branding, designs and documentation. Research sponsors retain rights in their study materials unless otherwise stated. You retain rights you lawfully hold in your original content, but by submitting content you grant Axiom and the relevant research sponsor the rights reasonably necessary to host, process, review, analyse and use that submission for the disclosed research and platform purposes, subject to the applicable privacy notice, consent and study terms.

10. External services

A study may link to a third-party survey, interview, prototype, meeting, payment or research tool. External services may have their own terms and privacy notices. Axiom is not responsible for the independent content or acts of a third-party service beyond obligations that applicable law places on us.

11. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, researchers, research integrity, payment systems or platform security; to investigate suspected fraud or abuse; to comply with law; or to address a material breach of these Terms. Serious or repeated breaches may result in account termination. Where appropriate, we may preserve records needed for fraud prevention, disputes, accounting or legal compliance after termination.

12. Service availability and changes

We may modify, pause or discontinue features, and research opportunities may open, close or change without notice where quotas, sponsor decisions, eligibility or operational needs require it. We aim for reliable service but do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability.

13. Disclaimers

Research opportunities are not employment, investment, medical, legal or financial advice. Rewards are not guaranteed unless the stated eligibility and completion conditions are met. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, especially mandatory consumer rights.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or mandatory statutory liability. Subject to those limits, Axiom is liable for foreseeable damage caused by a material breach of an essential contractual duty, with liability limited to the damage typically foreseeable for the relevant service. Additional liability may apply where required by mandatory consumer law.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Axiom processes personal data. Study-specific privacy information may also apply. The Privacy Policy does not form a waiver of any rights you have under applicable data-protection law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules, to the extent such choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections of the law of their habitual residence. Statutory venue rules apply. If you are a business customer and a venue agreement is legally permitted, Berlin may be agreed as the place of jurisdiction.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, security, operational or service reasons. Material changes will be communicated appropriately. Where required, continued use may require renewed acceptance.
